The weekend after Memorial Day we went to Lake of the Ozarks. It was the first time we ventured out to go camping in Missouri - humidity, ticks, crowded campgrounds, chiggers didn't keep us away this time. It turned out great; weather was nice the whole time, we got to swim, explore caves (Drew did awesome, what a brave little man), hike, roast brats and make wicked good smores. I found 2 ticks (my first ever). Suckers are hard to rip off. Eeeeech. But we saw a cool snapping turtle crossing the road as we were driving away from the caves- I had to stop and get a picture, and resisted the tempation to mess with him. He didn't look like he wanted to be messed with in any way shape or form. But I missed my "grapes of wrath" shot of him crossing the road, because there were other people out watching him too, and they were standing in the way. And the campground neighbors weren't too annoying. Probably 5/10 on the redneck scale for the following - bare belly making bonfires +2, loud drunken couple cussfest +2, and generator noise from sunset to 10PM +1. But we'll be back. We love camping!

Glad you had fun--maybe we'll try that venue out sometime. I admit the turtle/Grapes of Wrath allusion is lost on me; maybe you'll have to clarify sometime. We'll see you soon!
It's... alive!
Good to see you guys had a fun trip! Drew is growing up fast!
You actually read those weird chapters in Grapes of Wrath? Two words: Cliffs Notes. :)
Oh I wish we could have gone with you! Glad your neighbors were only a 5...if you were hanging out with us you might have been rated a 3! Just kidding! We are so glad we have you as friends...even if Drew doesn't like to hang out with us. :)
